From £23,000 to a target rate of £29,100 with opportunity to rise to a Higher Performance ceiling of £32,100 Roles across England

Natural England works for people, places and nature, to enhance biodiversity, landscapes and wildlife in rural, urban, coastal and marine areas; promoting access, recreation and public well-being and contributing to the way natural resources are managed so that they can be enjoyed now and in the future.

If you have a proven understanding of conservation legislation and policies relating to the marine environment, together with a motivation to facilitate change and achieve better management of our marine resources, this is your opportunity to help deliver a key part of our Marine N2K Project. Initially, you will ensure our new marine Natura 2000 sites (which include 8 Special Areas of Conservation and up to 3 Special Protection Areas) are established and maintained to an agreed timetable.

The Natural England Marine N2K Project is a key part of Government’s work to complete the UK MPA network.

Drawing on your excellent project management skills, you will work to develop a dialogue and consultation with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the new sites will be effective and well managed. This may involve identifying deliverable mitigation and adaptation strategies required by Government and industry.

You will use your persuasive communication skills to further the understanding and acceptance of scientific evidence underpinning the site proposals. You will need a clear outcome focus to ensure that Natural England, working with industry, marine resource users and other regulatory authorities, can set fit for purpose management and conservation objectives.

We are currently offering opportunities in the following areas:

East Midlands – Ref: RCRE 1208 • East of England – Ref: RCRE 1209

South East – Ref: RCRE 1210 • South West – Ref: RCRE 1211
